Mortal remains of Com D Gnaniah was
laid to rest
The
mortal remains of veteran trade union and communist leader and former
secretary general of NFPTE Com D Gnaniah was laid to rest at TELC cemetery
Coimbatore on 13.08.2017 (Thursday) at about 1PM today. He was 97.
Large
number of P&T trade union workers and others participated in the funeral
Earlier
the body was brougt to his house at 9 am. The first to pay homage was veteran
P&T trade union leader and patron of AIPRPA AG Pasupathi. A large number of
postal workers led by Com Ebenezer Gandhi DS P3 NFPE and Com H Sridharan
DS P4 NFPE paid homage at his house. Com R K and other NFTE leaders also paid
there homage.
Later the
body was taken to CPI district party headquarters. Leaders of CPI and CPI (M)
other political parties and large number TU workers and public at large paid
their homage. In the condolence meeting held there , D Raja Dy Geneeal S
Secretary of CPI, Mutharasan TN state secretary of CPI and P R Natarajan
ex MP and CPI (M) leader Thangavelu ex MLA CPI (M) and host of others paid their
tributes.
On behalf
of AIPRPA myself and Com D Sivaraju District secretary along with large number
AIPRPA members and office bearers paid floral homage. His name will
remain foreever in the minds of lakhs and lakhs of P&T wokers and other
downtrodden people.
