The Department of Posts has issued Notification on 21.02.2014 for Direct Recruitment in the following cadres of Postal Assistants 

1) POSTAL ASSISTANTS

 2)SORTING ASSISTANTS

3)POSTAL ASSISTANTS (SAVINGS BANK CONTROL ORGANIZATION)

4)POSTAL ASSISTANTS(FOREIGN POST ORGANIZATION)

5)POSTAL ASSISTANTS (RETURNED LETTER OFFICES)

6)POSTAL ASSISTANTS (MAIL MOTOR SERVICES) 

7)POSTAL ASSISTANTS (CIRCLE AND REGIONAL OFFICES)

Certain eligibility criteria and other allied information are given below

Age Limit

Candidates applying for the above posts should not be below 18 years of age and should not exceed 27 years as on 27-03-2014. Age relaxation will be applicable as per the Government rules.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess Intermediate/ 10+2 standard or 12th class pass from any recognized university or Board with English as a compulsory subject. Candidates should also have the knowledge of local language of the State or Union Territory of the regarding Postal Circle and Hindi as a subject at least in Matriculation level or equivalent examination.

Application Fee

All category candidates- Rs. 100/-

Exam Fee

General candidates- Rs. 400/-

SC/ ST/ Physically Impaired/ Woman candidates are exempted from examination fee.

Note- Fee should be remitted at the nearest e-payment Post Offices in the form of Cash (INR) only through Fee Payment challan printed from the website.

Selection Process

Candidates applying for the above mentioned India Postal recruitment will be selected on the basis of their marks obtained in written examination and interview.
